What:

The British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission is the single-window regulatory agency with responsibilities for regulating oil and gas activities in British Columbia, including exploration, development, pipeline transportation and reclamation. The Commission's core roles include reviewing and assessing applications for industry activity, consulting with First Nations, ensuring industry complies with provincial legislation and cooperating with partner agencies.

Ms. Vickers is a lawyer practicing dispute resolution and administrative law. She has been Chair of B.C. Surface Rights Board since July 2007. The Board exercises jurisdiction under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Act to resolve surface disputes between landowners and the holders of sub-surface rights.

Cheryl will cover: scope of the SRB's jurisdictions, how to apply, mediation process, arbitration process, and emerging issues before the SRB.
