Who:
A full day course for industry personnel working with Surface Agreements and the applicable legislation governing the rights of the surface owners and third parties. Upon completion, land agents will have a basic understanding of the legislative law applicable to Surface Agreements and knowledge of where to research the legislation to answer day to day questions. Additionally, we will cover what steps need to be taken to compel access to land in the event that a Surface Agreement cannot be reached.Â

Tracey Stock, P. Eng, JD, MBA
Tracey Stock has been in the energy sector since 1980 as a lawyer, engineer and landman working with Imperial Oil, Texaco, Shell, Trans-Canada Pipelines, Norcen, Petro-Canada, Talisman, Apache, Penn West, Pengrowth, Plains Midstream, and LandSolutions. Tracey delivers courses, seminars, and workshops to colleges, universities, professional and industry organizations including APEGA, CPLED, CAPL, and CAPLA. His experience includes petroleum engineering, corporate and commercial law, petroleum land negotiations and administration, and information systems management. Tracey teaches business law, management, and petroleum law at Mount Royal University, and survey law, intellectual property law and information systems management at the University of Calgary. He also has several published articles dealing with current land and legal issues in the petroleum industry. He is a CAPL member and is President of CAPLA. He is also a part-time AER Hearing Commissioner.
