The Government of Alberta (GOA), through the Department of Energy, has issued a bulletin regarding the ongoing Royalty Review.  There was an expectation the Royalty Reviews final report, including the proposed calibration for the Drilling & Completion Average Cost Allowance and actuals for royalties beginning in 2017, post pay out, would be ready by the end of March.  This is a large undertaking and the GOA is postponing releasing final numbers till April 21st.  I sat on one of the Royalty Review panels that came to Calgary and from my exposure to the work of the panel I’m not surprised to see a small delay in releasing the final formulas.  Click on the link below to read the message from the Minister of Energy.
